Louis R. Notaro, Chief Executive Officer
Lou got his start in the family’s trucking industry when he was just six years old. He began helping out at the Jersey City loading dock at age 11 and spent several years working in all aspects of the business, learning the ropes from his father, Phil. His father’s adventurous spirit caused many ups and downs in the business, which guided him to start his own venture, being sure to build a company upon a rock-solid foundation.
In 1994, Lou partnered with his Uncle Bobby to found F.O.X. Intermodal. The company name is inspired by the CB handle of his mentor, Jim Arteca, whose handle was “The Silver Fox.”
Lou slowly and carefully built the business, working 80 hours a week for several years as a hands-on owner. He eventually learned the importance of not overextending yourself personally or professionally, and worked for a better work-life balance to spend more time with his family. To do this, he assembled a company of similarly dedicated, hard-working individuals who both embrace customer service excellence and can thrive in the ever-changing shipping and trucking industry.
